Chief Executive Officer
David Lewis has been the CEO or founding partner of 5 companies, one a 600-person family business, three successful startups in the areas of executive search, consulting and financial project execution, as well as a venture-capital-backed software development firm. His last startup scaled to a 300-person consulting and executive services firm in seven and a half years. During his tenure, the firm worked with companies ranging from Fortune 500 companies to venture-backed startups. He has deep functional expertise in creation and implementation of accountability systems, planning, finance, talent acquisition and development and key executive coaching. David holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Economics from Georgetown University in Washington DC.
Chief Operating Officer
Kelly Patchett has focused her career on driving company growth and enterprise value through Operations, Talent Acquisition Strategy, Human Capital Development and Process Improvement. She has been the founding member of 3 consulting firms, architecting and managing the initial setup and ongoing development of multiple areas of the business. Kelly has led a variety of special project initiatives in the areas of training and learning programs, compensation and incentive plan development, benchmarking, systems implementation, sales and marketing initiatives, and process re-engineering. In her current capacity, Kelly directly oversees the recruiting, HR, accounting, systems, client service, marketing and administrative functions of the business. Kelly is a Southern California native, graduated from Loyola Marymount University and was a recipient of the 2006 San Fernando Valley Business Journal's 40 under 40 award.

Shawn Spears has more than 20 years of experience in the consulting business, developing trusted advisor relationships with C-Suite leaders in both Fortune 1000 and middle market companies in multiple markets. Shawn’s expertise includes solution development, new client relationship development, market expansion, and project management. Shawn has also held several senior management finance positions in companies including Universal Studios, Levi Strauss and Co, Arthur Andersen, Nissan Corp, and ClubCorp. Shawn holds a Master’s Degree in Finance/Economics from the University of Miami (FL) and a B.S. in Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Managing Director
Travis has more than 15 years of experience in corporate finance and strategy consulting helping clients navigate through complex financial issues and transactions. Travis currently serves as the Managing Director of Business Development at 8020 Consulting and focuses his time developing and maintaining client relationships with finance and accounting leaders in both middle market and Fortune 1000 companies. Prior to joining 8020 Consulting, he served as a Director of Finance at FTI Consulting specializing in providing turnaround, restructuring and transaction related services. His diverse industry experience includes entertainment, automotive, real estate, healthcare, gaming, food and beverage, financial services, and technology. His core competencies include strategic planning, financial modeling, forecasting and budgeting, corporate restructuring, due diligence, post-merger integration, valuation, financial statement preparation, and operational planning. He holds an M.S. in Finance and Accounting from the University of San Diego and a B.S. in Accountancy from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He is an active CPA in California and a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor.
Director, Consultant Development and Recruiting
Erin’s career has been focused on many aspects of Human Capital including full cycle Talent Acquisition, to Employee Review Management. Her outgoing personality and expertise, as well as her ability to spot top finance and accounting talent, has contributed to her success in attracting the right people. In her current role, Erin is responsible for leading all aspects of the hiring process and as a member of the executive team helps manage and lead a variety of special projects related to employee review process revamp, employee training and development, new hire orientation, employee retention as well as a variety of other Human Capital, Talent Acquisition activities and Operational projects. Erin is a Southern California native, however spent 4 years in the Mid-West where she studied voice performance and music theory.
Chief Financial Officer
Michael joined 8020 Consulting in 2014 as a Senior Consultant, executing projects that included leading several system implementations, conducting due diligence support (acquisition), building financial models for analysis and budgeting and serving as Interim CFO and Controller. Prior to joining 8020 Consulting, Michael obtained diverse financial and operational leadership experience including positions as CFO and VP of Operations of several rapidly growing companies in technology (hardware and software), e-commerce and business services. As CFO, some of his more significant accomplishments include upgrades to reporting, financial analysis, budgeting and ERP and other Financial systems, providing leadership and other stakeholders with crucial information and allowing the respective companies to continue to grow sustainably. Michael is a CPA and holds a B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University Northwest and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

John is an Alumnus of Arthur Andersen and a CPA with more than 25 years of diverse, hands-on financial and operational leadership experience in entertainment, technology, retail and distribution environments, including CFO, VP of Finance, and Controllership roles at companies ranging in size from early start-up through middle market as well as Fortune 500. John also has strong international management experience with time spent in the UK, Germany, India, and the Middle East. In fact, he managed global operations teams including the formation and expansion of India offshore operations and expansion of a company into the European market. Across his career, John has worked very closely with VC firms in the raising of multiple rounds of financing and negotiation of lines of credit with banks and he has helped lead companies through the successful exit / sale process.

Scott has more than 25 years of finance and accounting experience spanning several industries with companies large and small. He is an Ernst & Young alumnus who was Manager of Finance for Disney’s Network Television Division before he moved on to Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for Korn/Ferry Futurestep. As a consultant, Scott has performed system implementations, conducted business process re-engineering, created forecasting and budgeting models, and managed internal and external financial reporting. He has filled the role of Interim CFO for several companies, managing them through successful acquisition as well as post–merger accounting integration for the acquiring companies. Scott holds a B.S. in accounting from the University of Southern California and is an active CPA.

As a finance executive with 20+ years of experience in finance and solid experience in partnering with departments and divisions, Devon has used financial analysis/modeling, negotiation, communication and software development skills to help companies and divisions achieve various business goals. Prior to joining 8020 Consulting, Devon was Executive Director of Warner Home Entertainment’s Acquisitions group overseeing title acquisitions and providing financial support for film productions. Devon has also held high-profile positions at Disney and CUNA Mutual Group in a finance and software development capacity. He has an MBA in Finance and International Business from UW-Madison and a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from UNC-Greensboro.

Her work spans mature, high-growth and VC-backed organizations within the professional, technology, biotech and financial services industries. Prior to joining 8020 Consulting, Angela spent eight years as the most senior finance executive in her role as VP of Finance at Kelton Global. During her tenure she built the finance function from the ground up and led the company through a successful acquisition and post-acquisition integration. Her expertise centers around strategic planning, FP&A, financial modeling, M&A and financial systems implementations. Angela began her career at Citigroup in the Global Corporate and Investment Bank where she spent several years working on deals for a diverse group of Fortune 500 companies. Angela holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University.

Brian has provided leadership and project management to an entire Accounting organization, including restructuring planning, managing internal and external (including SEC) financial reporting, supporting a successful public stock offering, leading finance and accounting efforts for a business line divesture, and process re-engineering. Brian holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from San Diego State University.

Brandon is a finance and accounting specialist with more than 20 years of experience. He started his career as an auditor with the Big 4, where he assisted and led audit engagements in a wide range of industries including consumer products, financial services and biotechnology. Brandon then went on to The Walt Disney Company’s Transaction Support team, where he was responsible for providing expertise in M&A transactions, due diligence, divestiture, technical accounting and restructuring to Disney and all of its subsidiaries. After The Walt Disney Company, Brandon led year-end audits, month-end close and financial reporting in the retail apparel industry at levels of Senior Manager and then Director. Brandon joined 8020 in 2016, and has worked as consultant in the apparel, banking, biotechnology, fintech and real estate industries serving in position of controller, director, and vice president of SEC Financial Reporting. Brandon is a CPA and holds a B.S. in accounting with a minor in economics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Estelle is a KPMG alumnus with more than 15 years of diverse experience in finance and operations, including 10 years in the digital content and marketing spaces. Prior to joining the 8020 team, she held leadership and managerial roles at startup and middle-market, high-growth companies. These companies include Branded Entertainment Network, Be Green Packaging, IAC and Demand Media. Her experience includes leading M&A transaction support and integration efforts, implementing multiple system integrations, conducting business process improvements and providing analytical support in the form of financial modeling, budgeting/forecasting and internal and external data reporting. Estelle holds a BBA in Accounting and an MBA, both from Pace University, and is an active CPA.

George has 13+ years of digital marketing and consulting experience with growth-focused organizations. As the Director of Marketing at 8020 Consulting, he guides the marketing efforts of the firm and serves as a member of the corporate team. Prior to joining 8020, he worked as a strategic marketing consultant designing, implementing and directing marketing programs for a variety of B2B clients. He also has experience in a variety of content creation, digital marketing, creative and copywriting roles in a wide range of industries. He holds a B.A. in Public Relations and minor in English from Penn State University at University Park, and he has an M.A. in Writing from Rowan University.

At Buscemi, Jennifer led the implementation of NetSuite as the complete system of record within 4 months. Prior to Buscemi, Jennifer was the Corporate Controller of Dogswell, a premium pet treat manufacturer. She joined Dogswell as part of a turnaround team post restructuring, which was successfully turned around and sold within 1 year. The majority of Jennifer’s career was spent at JAKKS Pacific, a $900-million publicly traded toy design and manufacturing company, where she was Vice President of Finance. At JAKKS, Jennifer was head of the FP&A and Royalties departments and acted as Interim Controller for over a year. Her work included both internal and external financial reporting, royalty audits and preparing Board of Director presentations. She has expertise in building complex financial models, strategic planning, motivating the finance team, and improving efficiency. He began his career with Deloitte in accounting outsourcing services and moved to audit where he served a variety of client industries. Prior to joining 8020 Consulting, he was CFO at Sultra Corporation and before that, Director of Finance at ghd Professional North America. Brad hails from the great state of Tennessee and holds a B.A. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Following his graduation, he relocated to Los Angeles where he served as a Senior Account Executive for one of the top ranking digital marketing firms. During that time, Brad was in charge of client management as well as training and managing a growing sales team. Brad is a seasoned professional when it comes to client relations and effective strategy building for higher ROI. When he is not at 8020 Consulting, Brad can be found on the golf course, hiking or spending time with his wife and newborn.

Chona brings more than 25 years of experience in accounting, finance, and project management in her role as a consultant at 8020 Consulting. Prior to consulting, she got her start as an auditor at Ernst & Young, followed by two stints at the Walt Disney Company where she held accounting and financial reporting roles, culminating as a Director in Corporate Controllership. Chona was Assistant Controller at Virgin Megastores, before returning to Disney. At Disney, Chona became a super user for two out of the five ERP implementation waves at the company. At Amgen, she had the opportunity to further expand her super-user role when the company rolled out their ERP implementation in the U.S. In her International Accounting role at Amgen, Chona project managed numerous international expansions in Asia and Latin America. She rotated into Corporate Audit followed by her role in Finance Integration for Amgen acquisitions and organic expansions in several countries.

Shayla is an Oregon Native and a graduate of the University of Oregon with a BA in Business. She has spent most of her career focusing on service-based sales roles. Shayla found her niche in Talent Acquisition after working for a large Insurance firm in the Portland area. Her passion for helping others thrive in new careers has made for a successful and fulfilling career thus far. When not at 8020, Shayla can be found outside in the PNW spending time with her family.

Within the medical devices industry, Mahmoud has held positions as VP of Finance at Neural Analytics, a VC-backed startup; as Finance executive for the Newborn Care strategic business unit at Natus Medical; as Sr. Director of FP&A at Hansen Medical, where he assisted in the commercialization of the first robotic system to treat Atrial Fibrillation; as Director of Finance at Medtronic Inc. and as Director of FP&A at Kyphon, where he established and grew the FP&A function. Prior to 8020 he has served in various leadership roles in the apparel industry: VP of Finance at PPLA Clothing, VP of Finance at Little Giraffe, and the head of FP&A at Junk Food Clothing. At Fox Entertainment, Jackson led the implementation of business intelligence tools and reporting, and at Fox Sports, he conducted analysis on multi-billion dollar sports deals. Jackson's experience also includes financial modeling for technology startups as well as large public-sized tech companies. Jackson holds a bachelor's degree from USC's Marshall School of Business with a concentration in finance.

Kevin has 10+ years of marketing and consulting experience with organizations looking to accelerate growth. As the Associate Director of Marketing at 8020 Consulting, Kevin executes data-driven marketing campaigns, spanning digital, social media, email, and other platforms and serves as a member of the corporate team. Prior to joining 8020, he worked as a strategic B2B marketing consultant with experience in digital marketing, brand strategy and directing creative teams in industries spanning K12 education to professional services. Kevin graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, with a Bachelor of Business Administration Arts degree.

Prior to joining 8020 Consulting, Victor worked for Gynesonics, where he worked on accounting transformation projects. His specialties include Accounting and Financial Reporting, Process Design and ERP Implementation. Victor is a CPA and has a Bachelor of Arts, Economics from University of California – Davis.

Mehran is a CPA with more than six years of experience in finance and accounting in the ecommerce and retail industries. He has broad experience in month-end close procedures, financial reporting, cash management, systems implementation, payroll, AP/AR and project management. Prior to joining 8020, Mehran worked at The Bouqs Company, a growing online flower retailer. Mehran holds a B.S. in Finance from California State University, Northridge.
Administrative Coordinator
Jennifer is a Southern California native and holds a bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from California State University, Northridge. While in school, she served as an officer for her club, a student intern for the dietetic center, and a writer for the VA dietetic newsletter. Jennifer has previously worked in dietary administration for more than four years in a regionally top-ranked hospital. She also spent time working as an Executive Assistant in the entertainment industry.
Associate Director, Client Services
Josh is an experienced financial services professional with a background in business finance and management consulting. Prior to joining 8020 Consulting, he served as a VP of Finance for the Wealth Management division at JPMorgan Chase and as a management consultant in the Advisory practices at KPMG & CohnReznick. His specialties include process optimization, financial reporting, and business development. He has executed projects for clients across a variety of industries, including FinTech, Financial Services and CPG. He holds a double Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Finance & Economics from the Terry School of Business at the University of Georgia.

Monique is an experienced sales professional and has a track record of being a top performer in her past roles, one being with a prestigious sales firm located in Charlotte, NC. As a business-to-business sales associate, Monique helped launch a small to medium business initiative with one of the fastest growing financiers in the country. Monique holds a B.A. in Communication from UNC-Charlotte and in her free time enjoys photography and contributing to her weekly podcast.

Alexzenia has forged a successful career spanning public relations and marketing to business development. Alexzenia believes in remaining goal-oriented, strategic and creative, often developing processes intended to improve efficiency. Additionally, Alexzenia is a proficient writer who has enjoyed a fruitful freelancing career. With a passion for poetry, in 2014, she established The Poet's List, a brand and news site which aims to usher poets back to the forefront of pop culture. Alexzenia is a graduate of Johnson C. Smith University, where she earned a B.A. in Communication Arts.

Since starting his career in accounts payable to his current position as the Corporate Accounting Manager, Josh has had the opportunity to work in a diverse set of industries as varied as legal services, property management, securities, manufacturing, non-profit and market research. He has been involved in responding to the needs of external auditors, creating financial statements and documentation of accounting procedures. Josh is a CPA with a degree in Finance from California State University, Northridge.
