On FP&A to Support Rapid Growth

My last engagement involved providing Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) assistance to a startup healthcare client.  Their rapid growth in the past several months required an improved short-term cash flow forecast among other needs. 

Their existing short-term cash flow forecast needed some improvements. I provided suggestions and obtained initial guidance from the VP of Finance and the CFO, along with a deadline before speaking to their broader team. I then interacted with payroll, the revenue manager and the A/P team to discuss upcoming big outlays and collections. I also reached out to a program manager coordinating a new business line buildout, which required incremental capital expenditures near-term. A weekly update cadence was also established.

I was glad to see that the short-term cash flow forecast was now more robust, especially as outside cash sources may be needed soon.
