The best part of my time with my client was my personal relationship with the CFO. We had worked together at a previous client, and that prior working relationship brought credibility based on completed projects and great results.
Through our previous experiences, I had a keen understanding of what, and how, he wanted to accomplish activities, which provided for a more productive project. One specific example was the creation of a 5-year Capex projection, which included forecasted capitalization expense by asset, cash flow from investing activities and disposal and renewal of capitalized assets. I had done similar work for him in the past, so I knew the format and structure to which he was accustomed. From there, it was simply a matter of modeling the results accordingly.
Without my understanding of his preferences from prior projects together, this model build out would have required iterations, back and forth and more time overall.
