I worked on a short-term project to assist in the client’s year-end audit and help catch them up on SEC filings, since the company had been dormant for the past year. My client contact was new to the company and didn’t have much historical company knowledge. He also had been working extended hours to get the company SEC compliant.
In the eight weeks I was deployed, we were able to complete the audit on time and not only file the 10K, but also the first quarter 10Q one week later to finally get the client compliant with the SEC for the first time in well over a year. I was happy to be able to contribute to the process and alleviate the client’s stress in getting this done on time, as he could not have completed it in a timely manner by himself.
I was able to quickly build rapport and work together with him and his team to overcome the obstacles and meet the deadlines. This deployment is a perfect example of how you don’t need years to develop rapport to successfully bring a project over the finish line; it is possible to make a big impact in a short amount of time. It was professionally satisfying to be able to bring back work-life balance for my client along with achieving the goals at hand.
