As a Consultant, you never know what kind of client you will work with. At my last Client, I had the fortunate experience of working with a group of talented, hardworking and intelligent professionals. The company had created a culture of teamwork – which was particularly evident when we were implementing the new accounting guidance of ASC 842, Leases.
The company had 30+ office leases to review and implement, and the review process could be long and tedious, with some leases long enough to take a full eight hours to review. But everyone was on board to help, including members from the SEC team, Consolidation team, GL team, international finance team and consultants.
Together, we completed all the leases and ASC 842 schedules in a week, on top of managing the daily tasks and urgent requests that also occurred. It was certainly a task, but the team made it a fun experience. I was happy that I was there to contribute and see what great teamwork can accomplish.
