In the spirit of the holidays, the 8020 Consulting team came together for the second season to sponsor post 9/11 wounded and disabled veterans and their families in the Los Angeles area through a fantastic organization, Soldier’s Angels. As a group, the company supported 4 families and 12 children with gifts of their choosing, including toys and clothing as well as gift certificates for use in purchasing a nice holiday meal.
“The generosity and commitment to helping others demonstrated by our team was really inspirational. Some individuals gave $100 or more in gift cards and others purchased difficult to find gifts for multiple children,” shared Kelly Patchett, Chief Operating Officer.
Erin Youel, who coordinated the program, explains, “Soldier’s Angels is a really easy organization to work with as they are responsive, helpful and extremely good with matching the sponsoring company with families in need. It’s particularly nice that we have the opportunity to reach out directly to the families to find out exactly what they want and need.”
Soldier’s Angels helped more than 362,000 in 2016 and provides a number of programs for veterans, service members and their families including voice controlled adaptive laptops, care packages, cards and letters to combat deployed service members and food assistance.
