On Advising Clients

Often, in an Interim Executive position as CFO or Treasurer, I have operational control that affords me the opportunity to make immediate positive impacts for clients by quickly filling gaps or tackling the crisis du jour.

Yet, on my recent engagement as a treasury management consultant, I learned that an advisory role to identify risks and opportunities could help my clients just as much – financially and procedurally. I was able to use all my financial expertise to review their existing treasury structure, systems, policies and procedures and risk management controls, and I also evaluated potential financial partner platforms.

My recommendations, when fully implemented, will yield the benefits of simpler cash management, cleaner forecasting, tightened controls and efficient reconciliation. Other treasury recommendations focused on new cash management processes and technology solutions that will generate significant cash flow in the millions on an annualized basis.
